The Economy's Bad....But Not For Kids!!!

OK, so the economy's bad (read 'different') and business owners are struggling to come up with a way to make more money. In the meantime the toy makers know what they're doing.

First, they're re-making toys (demand driven by movies) from my childhood. Why, because they know my generation has fond feelings for these toys, we have some money, AND we have kids. The magic trifecta!!!

I could discuss the brilliance of this for pages. Creating demand in kids, reducing threshold resistance in parents, it's just plain brilliant.

Second, they're making several different versions of the same toy. So, with Transformers, we have the easy to transform Bumblebee, the normal Bumblebee, the non transforming Bumblebee that makes sounds and has lights, the dancing Bumblebee, the Pickin' his nose Bumblebee, the scratching his a$$ Bumblebee, etc. etc.

They have the same thing for each character. Over and over and over.

It's nothing but brilliant. Turning a finite number of action figures into a virtual unlimited number. With different price points, so some kids will get all of them, some will only get the cheapest, but all will get something.

Forget no child left behind, this is an example of no dollar left behind!

I take my hat off to them. It's nothing less than brilliance!
