Today I will cry. I will have no cheer in my mood, no happiness or joviality in my day. Today is the day when the rest of the world celebrates the Irish with green beer and toasted to the Emerald Isle.
Yes the rest of the world goes on with their blind celebration, but I can't. I know the truth. I know who the snakes were. I know how Padriag ran them out of Ireland.
Yes the Irish people are said to have a strangely high rate of alcoholism. Is it any wonder. The once proud and powerful Celts, the people who had roads all throughout Western Europe before the Romans "civilized" them and stole their wealth, now live on some of the most powerful land in the entire world. They live their and they know in the hearts the land is powerful, but they are told by their churches it is not. They are told to acknowledge the power and majesty of the land and it's spirits is evil. They are told to worship their ancestors, some of the most powerful and noble people in the world, is evil and their ancestors are demons.
Yes Padriag didn't remove any snakes, he just got rid of the indigenous pagan religion of the Celts. Rome's final victory.
And what has the good Padriag brought to Ireland? A people divided. Terrorism. Hatred.
And worse a denial and hatred of the power of the land they live on, the very source of their once great religion.
No everything wasn't roses and caramels before Padriag, but what have the Irish been known for since?
Alcohol consumption
A back drop for movies like "Darby O'Gill and the Little People"
Kiss me I'm Irish buttons.
"Silly" stories about Leprechauns
Phui!
Before the son of a bitch "ran the snakes off the island," the Celts, including the Irish, were some of the noblest and richest people in the world. They had roads, as I mentioned before, all over Europe, all the way to Turkey. They had thriving trade routes. They were a people to envy.
Now....Darby O'Gill
So where your green, and drink your green beer and toast to the luck of the Irish.
I will wear black, as I do every year. I will read old folk tales and remember the power and majesty of the Celts. You have a time with mindless cheer, and I will pay homage to my ancestors.
I will remember them and cry for them and pray for the return of the beliefs that made them great.
And in the meantime, I hope Padriag can be found among them, treated like the traitor and kin slayer he is. Condemned to the torture he has wrought upon his kin for generation after generation, until his damage can be undone.

The Solution to the Healthcare Debate.....results in all stated objectives!!
OK, so in the last few days many of my "Facebook" friends have posted this quote about healthcare:
"No one should die because they cannot afford health care, and no one should go broke because they get sick." If you agree, please post this as your status for the rest of the day."
OK so who can disagree? It's really a hard thing to argue. I mean, whatch gonna say?
"No I think if someone gets sick they should go broke!"
Clearly not. BUT (and this is a big ol' wide ass BUT -pun intended) the implication of the post is a red herring...an attempt to divert attention.
You see, the implications are:
1. we have a responsibility to make sure no one goes broke or dies because of lack of health care, and;
2. the government is the only entity capable of doing the job.
I reject both those premises/implications.
Here's what they (meaning the government) have done. They've limited the debate to the assumption that the ONLY valid healthcare in the country is "traditional medicine." The government has even passed laws that forbid other sphere of healthcare from making "medical claims"
So, in other words, a chiropractor who knows he can cure an illness which chiropractic is not approved to treat can't make the claim that he can cure you. As a matter of fact, the last time I went to a chiro, he had me sign a form that said chiropractic care isn't medical care and it might make any problem it's used to treat worse.
Seriously! I asked him about it and the good doctor told me he doesn't have to have patients sign but if he doesn't and he has some trouble (law suit), the State of Florida will pull his license.
In this litigious society, sounds like he has to have patients sign this waiver. I wonder how many people never come back and just go to their regular doctor.
What do you think would happen if a doctor had to have a patient sign a waiver that highlighted the side effects of medical care, like death! Would never happen....Why? Because the AMA is a HUGE lobby.
What about other forms of healthcare practitioner who can't make medical claims.
Herbalist (they can't even practice for fear of being shut down. Luckily the 1st amendment protects them from being shut up completely.)
Massage therapist (unless a MD makes a medical claim and prescribes the therapy)
Acupuncturist.
Nutritionist
Heck my personal trainer is in many ways a healthcare practitioner, but let him make a medical claim about exercising and see how fast he's in court.
The bottom line is the governments endorsement of "traditional medicine" has made it the only healthcare field this entire debate is about. Insurance companies are finally recognizing "alternative medicine" and that, of course, is pulling money from "Big Pharma."
That's not to say insurance companies go nearly far enough, but they are at least paying for chiropractic, some gym memberships, etc. They still won't pay for an herbalist to treat you. (On the off chance you can't tell I am a big fan of herbs and other natural treatments that work WITH the body and not against or in lieu of it.)
I have found with my research into living a healthier lifestyle that MD's are normally not only unnecessary, but they are often times counter-productive.
That also happens to be the opinion of the healthiest people I know. And not for nothing but, if I want to learn about how to be healthy I'll ask people who aren't sick. The sick people are obviously doing something wrong.
BTW, as a side note I have read a enough studies and articles by people with very impressive credentials that cited good scientific studies that I am convinced nutrition and herbs are the way to go for illness. If I have a compound fracture, take me to the hospital. That's what they're good at.
So, if my premise is correct and the healthiest people around not only spend as little time as possible in their doctors office but they also take responsibility for their health and, quite frankly, don't follow their doctors tips, but live their life in a way that is counter to the recommendations of modern medicine, why would the government only endorse "modern medicine" by excluding other forms of healthcare from making medical claims and moreover, making practitioners and advocates of other forms of healthcare tell their patients and audiences that they should check with their MD because the information they're getting isn't meant to treat any illness and could be lethal?
Oh yeah, the AMA and Big Pharma lobbies.
Are you starting to see? Lobbyist are making the governments healthcare policy. Not your beloved politicians (on both sides of the isle.)
That's the problem with government involvement in anything, lobbyist, hired by industry groups or by specific companies or by other country's governments, start to sway the opinions of politicians. It takes money to get elected and these SOB's in Washington are willing to sell you and me down the river in order to get elected again.
Think about it, what would happen if your local MD had to compete with a nutritionist, an herbalist, 3 massage therapist, 2 chiropractors and an acupuncturist on a level playing field?
More competition means better service and lower prices. It ALWAYS does. It's an economic reality, and if you don't believe it you need to study your economic models more closely.
The problem with governments is they have police power, so when they pass a law, if you violate it you go to prison. If that police power is used for the purpose it is meant for, namely protecting individual rights (my right not to get punched in the nose), it's fine. But when it's used to limit my choice (no herbalist is allowed to see and treat patients) then there's a problem.
If the government gets into the regulation business, then lobbyist sway their opinion with constant, uncontested argument AND BRIBES. If think those SOB's in congress aren't taking more bribes than a mob connected judge you're out of your mind.
So the lobbyist, who are advocates for their business or industry, get the politicians to pass laws that are good for the industry or business, not for the people of the country....like for example, laws that make it illegal for certain healthcare practitioners to make medical claims.
So finally, the only way to give everyone all the choices they want, not just choice of doctor but choice of TYPE of treatment, to make sure everyone has access to some healthcare, to make sure the government doesn't have "death panels" (another ridiculuos red herring) to make sure everyone (young, old, sick or well) can get care until the day they are no longer on this earth without ridiculous waiting periods is.....
To remove government from healthcare altogether. No regulation, no laws, no licensing. Wild West! People wouldn't die in the streets, they'd just have to take a bit more responsibility for their health. A bit more research. Not just "are you licensed?"
Then everyone gets everything they want.
Of course that won't happen because this isn't about healthcare, it's about government power, and both sides of the isle are for that 100%

Gold Will Pass Through Your Hands, But Gold Will Have No Dominion Over You
The title of this post is a paraphrase of something Galadriel tells Glimli, son of Gloin, before he and his companions leave Lothlorien.
If you are completely in the dark about what I just wrote you should go get a complete copy of The Lord of the Rings and read it, by JR Tolkien and read it. It is a great novel for just entertainment, but, as is the case with so much fiction, there are wonderful gems of wisdom to draw out as well.
Anyway, when I heard this (I have read the books, but I am now listening to the audio book version while I am in my car) a light went on in my head.
In years gone by I hung around with several gamblers, and they had a saying about money, "It's only paper, I'll just go get some more." It made it seem that money meant very little to them. I found that too be true only if they had a lot of money based on some entrepreneurial venture.
And there's the key. See entrepreneurs view money differently. They don't see money, necessarily, as something you trade time for. That's not to say they don't work, just that they look for leverage. Employees for example. You pay someone 15 dollars an hour who makes 30 dollars an hour for you each hour they work. Now you still have to work managing them, and ideally you have several employees who you manage, all making you money each day they work.
Entrepreneurs also know they can send another piece of mail, place another ad, etc. etc and they can create more money for themselves.
In short, money is something that flows (cash flow) and it doesn't control the entrepreneur. It is an element in the decision making process, but general not the controlling factor.
In short, money (gold) passes through our hands but has no dominion over us.
Of course to the outside observer that is 100% wrong. You'll hear people say things like "All he [she] talks about is money," or "all that matters to him [her] is money."
That is, of course, not true. We are just willing to accept money as part of life. Conversation about it isn't meant to be shunned anymore than conversation about an interesting show you saw last night should be shunned. Conversation about how to make more money or how to increase your wealth are no more taboo to us than conversations about how to deal with martial problems or conversations about how to deal with a problems with your children.
All of these are part of life, some topics very important parts of life. Money is just one of those parts.
So here's the questions, who does money hold greater sway over, the person who views it as taboo, who won't talk about it, who expends mental and emotional energy fretting about whether it should be discussed or not, or the person who just views money as one of many areas of life, not to be ignored or concerned about any more or less than any number of other areas.
Interestingly enough, the more natural someone is with money, the more they tend of have/control. So in short, I would suggest that the average entrepreneur, when compaered with the average non-entrepreneur, has more money flowing through his/her hands and money has far less a hold over him/her.
But then, do they have more money because it doesn't have ahold, or does it not have ahold because they have more money?

The Economy's Bad....But Not For Kids!!!
OK, so the economy's bad (read 'different') and business owners are struggling to come up with a way to make more money. In the meantime the toy makers know what they're doing.
First, they're re-making toys (demand driven by movies) from my childhood. Why, because they know my generation has fond feelings for these toys, we have some money, AND we have kids. The magic trifecta!!!
I could discuss the brilliance of this for pages. Creating demand in kids, reducing threshold resistance in parents, it's just plain brilliant.
Second, they're making several different versions of the same toy. So, with Transformers, we have the easy to transform Bumblebee, the normal Bumblebee, the non transforming Bumblebee that makes sounds and has lights, the dancing Bumblebee, the Pickin' his nose Bumblebee, the scratching his a$$ Bumblebee, etc. etc.
They have the same thing for each character. Over and over and over.
It's nothing but brilliant. Turning a finite number of action figures into a virtual unlimited number. With different price points, so some kids will get all of them, some will only get the cheapest, but all will get something.
Forget no child left behind, this is an example of no dollar left behind!
I take my hat off to them. It's nothing less than brilliance!

And the Government said, "Give me your money or I'm gonna blow your head off."
OK so I'm an arrogant prick. Some of you reading this know I am, some of you don't, but all and all anyone spending more than a day or so with me with my guard down knows I think I'm better than most of the sheeple on this planet, and knows I'm willing to prove it day in and day out.
So what, right!?
Well I'll get to that, but let me first tell you why I feel free to write a scathing commentary on the arrogance of the progressives, that includes liberals and monotheist alike, while admitting I think myself better than the people I'm writing about.
To start off with, 6 years ago I was (as many of you folks have heard before) a broke single father making less than 1000 bucks a month and living in a home that was being foreclosed on. Now, 6 short years later, I have a thriving business that will likely do 2-2.5 million in sales it's 1st full calendar year (Rach and I started the business in Nov, 2008 with $1000.) I was looking for 5 million in sales, but it seems I may fall a bit short the first year.
Money doesn't matter huh? OK fine, how 'bout relationships. My wif, Rachel, and I are head over heels in love with each other. Sure we grumble occasionally, but those times are few and short lived, and the fact is we are IN LOVE, even after 5.5 years of marriage, 7.5 years of being together.
Now for those of you who know me on a more personal level, this marital bliss is a relatively new development, about 1.5 yrs - 2 yrs. Of course, when you put 2 people together who are used to controlling....no dominating their relationships to the point all previous ones fell apart, in part, because they never had any respect for previous partners, you're bound to have a few years of turmoil.
Anyway, we found the balance point and now it's marital bliss. And we had to WORK for it. We were both willing to do the work, something most people aren't. So we both feel superior, and well we should.
(ADD MOMENT: I re-connected with an old college buddy this weekend. While talking about our wives, I mentioned marital bliss. He said "there is no marital bliss" I said, "there is in my house, but you know I've never settled for anything in my life.)
Marriage not good enough for you, OK how 'bout personal relationships. Many of you know a few years ago I had a blow up with a number of close friends, indeed we were all part of the same "church" (horrible word to use but I don't have time or desire to get into the specifics of the structure of the religious institution I was part of.)
When that happened I dropped some people from my life. Others just kind of fell away for one reason or another.
Now a short 18-24 months later (interesting how it coincided with my marital bliss) the folks who I missed the most are back. Interestingly enough, they are also the ones who cleave to the same belief I do. Mainly self-responsibility. They also expect others to do the same. Hmmm.....
OK so in short, I have attracted back the cream of the crop of the people I had this type of relationship with. Says something about me. At least it does to me. Basically I have the respect of people whom I respect. Something few people can boast.
This is true as well of professional relationships I have. But I don't want to explore that tangent just now because it could be construed by some people who may read this as an endorsement by the people who I have the business relationship with, and that would be in appropriate without first garnering their express permission.
OK, so you're a more spiritual cat, not really interested in the profane or mundane? Well first if that's true I don't consider you to be very spiritual, but OK.
Several years ago I started on a "spiritual path" that venerated my ancestors. Since then, those ancestors have weaved Wyrd (if you don't know look it up. Google) and luck in my life to constantly help me succeed in my 'struggle' to better myself and my station in life for me and my family.
And after all, if all your spiritual 'stuff' doesn't amount to anything real, just a tendency to talk in riddles and act superior with no support for that superiority, then what good is it anyway?
[the less spiritually inclined reading this can read the preceding paragraph as follows:
After realizing the importance of venerating my ancestors, I focused in on the lessons I could learn from the memories of the family I knew who had passed, and I studied my ancient ancestors to learn their ethical and social beliefs.
I then applied those beliefs as much as possible in life and low and behold I straightened my life out and indeed I have thrived.]
Don't care about that? Well I work harder than a vast majority of the world (6-7 days a week). Not physical work, skilled work. But hard work none the less. My discipline and work ethic support my feeling of superiority over the masses.
Disagree? Well how 'bout reading. I used to read an average of 2.5 books per week. Now that it's not as critical to my business, I still read about 3 books per month. Plus magazines, newspapers and online news, etc.
So what? OK fine, I have a personal philosophy. Something most people in the world haven't spend the time or energy to specifically craft. I have, and the fact that I have taken the time and effort when most won't, supports my belief.
Still don't agree, OK FUCK OFF!!
The fact is my arrogance is supported by numerous FACTS, not just a vague sense of being better than the "money getters" because they're profane.
*************************************************************************************
OK so this nitwit on the business shows I watch was on a panel discussing health care reform. Now for those of you who don't know, my idea of health care reform is get the damned government out of it. But that's for another post.
This nit wit says, in relation to drug companies patents being shortened, "There were 2 things the drug companies were scared about, people importing drugs from Canada, and then importing the Canadian price controls, and the government using it's massive buying power to reduce costs. Neither one are going to happen. The drug companies have to be willing to give something back."
What in the blue hell is this arrogant little ivy league fuck talking about. Because the government isn't going to STEAL the drug companies profits (THAT RIGHT I SAID STEAL, OR AT LEAST MAKE LEGAL OTHER PEOPLE STEALING THE PROFITS) the drug companies have to be willing to give up something.
This is like a being governed by the mob. "Look here, we aren't going to rip your place apart and roust your customers but you have to be willing to give something up."
FUCK THIS TWIT AND FUCK THE GOVERNMENT!!! That's right I wrote it, I said it, and I mean it. And if some weaselly little shit wants to report me to the White House, here's the link... prick (www.Whitehouse.gov).
This little socialist fuck really believes that the drug companies owe the government because the government ALLOWED them to keep their profits.
(I should point out I have no love for the drug companies. If this guy would've said the drug companies need to give up something because for decades much of their research they've been making billions on has been government funded, OK I could live with that-though I would point out we should get the government out of the business of funding research.)
If I came to you and said, I won't steal all your valuables from you, but in return you have to give me something, you'd likely tell me to go pound salt, and rightfully so. But this is EXACTLY what this guy was saying about the drug companies.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, when the talk came around to the effect on R and D if they reduced the time a drug patent was in place, this weaselly little, no nothing no experience college boy says "It won't hurt R and D because they still need to come up with something to make and sell to their customers."
FUCK YOU, YOU TWIT!!!!!!
No, they don't have to. They can just shut down and go home with their billions, or they can fire their R and D staff and just sell the drugs they have, or they can just wait for other drugs to go generic and make them cheaper, or they can do 1000 other things.
This guy really believes the government not only has the right, but truly can do whatever, take whatever, and control whatever they want. I got news for ya, it can't.
The power of government is the power to destroy.
The power to tax is the power to destroy.
The underlying belief in this world that somehow government (or religion) can solve anything is just plain STUPID. That's right if you look to the government for anything, you're just plain STUPID.
I learned it the hard way.
You mark my words, left unchecked, these dumb fucks are going to keep leaning on producers, keep leaning on business, and eventually we'll stop producing, we'll stop doing business.
Watch what happens the day the government comes and tells me I have to unionize because I opened a branch in a union state. I just hope I have enough people working for me at that point, in that state, to have an effect on the local economy.
(I don't have any problem with employees entering into a collective bargaining agreement with employers, I do have a problem with the government stepping in and forcing employers to pay certain wages, give certain benefits, etc. the government decides are reasonable, Like I said FTG!)
My company, my rules. Any employee is 100% able and encouraged to start their own business, but as long as they work for me, they work under my rules. I try hard to be fair and equitable and a good boss, but ultimately it's my party!
And I may not be able to do business without having a significant amount of my money STOLEN by the feds, but when I decide you've taken too much, I damned sure can stop producing. You can force your way into my profits, but you can't force me to make any profit you fucking assholes.
And when the time comes, and I have a feeling it is, I will gladly, quickly and joyously tell you, your government services that are unConstitutional, and your arrogant "better than you" sneers to go fuck off.
Try and collect taxes when there's no commerce. HA!
And since small and medium sized businesses create 90%+ of the jobs in the country, what will you do when enough of us say "Take This Tax And Shove It"?
If you push us too far, what will you do when Atlas does shrug?
I know what you'll do, you'll ease off enough to get some of us back in the mix. You'll stop stealing quite so much of our money and you'll look to us to save you again, like we always do - you worthless Government hacks.
And we rarely hold grudges and creation is in our blood, it's part of our soul, so enough of us will come back, for our own reasons. Not to save you, but to fulfill ourselves. And you will again have a host to leech off of.
How I wish the producers of the world would get fed up and truly stop...truly go on strike. And we would see how well you weaselly government morons can do without us.

PS. BTW, the rich aren't automatically producers. Many Many rich people became rich by sucking the government tit. These looters are just as guilty as the destroyers in government.
So what, right!?
Well I'll get to that, but let me first tell you why I feel free to write a scathing commentary on the arrogance of the progressives, that includes liberals and monotheist alike, while admitting I think myself better than the people I'm writing about.
Skip this part if you don't want to read my resume as to why I'm arrogant -

ADD ? You Decide
This is the actual string of thoughts that went through my mind tonight while I was cleaning up the kitchen.
"Fucking irresponsible parents piss me off. You know if they want to screw with their own lives or their own kids, fine. But when they
1. make more work for me or (more importantly)
2. hurt my kids, even in the slightest way
I'd just love to smack the fuckin taste out of their mouth.
You know if more of these fucks would take responsibility for themselves and their little urchins we'd have a better world.
As a matter of fact if more people would take responsibility for themselves we would have they damned health care crap going on.
Of course my conversation with Laurel today was interesting. She made a good point [that she pays taxes and wants some services from government. Currently she gets none] At least it's based on something other than "sacrifice" BS.
Of course I'd say just the opposite. I don't get services so I'd rather not pay the taxes. Just tell the fuckin' Federales ....
All the Federales say,
they could've caught him any day,
they only let him slip away,
out of kindness I suppose
He wore his guns outside his vest
for all the honest world to feel.
Willie Nelson is a genius. So is Traci (Tracy?) Chapman.
Don't start singing that song Dont do it, Last time it took you 3 days to get that fucking song out of your head. Good song, just annoying after 72 hours of it ringing in my ears every non thinking moment.
You know, the other day Gene Simmons on his show said his best song can't compare with a Beatles. He's right.
Love Gene, don't like KISS. But they are exactly what he wanted them to be commercial. Beatles were as well, but more artistic, less crass.
If theres anything I like about KISS it is their crass commercialism.
Beatles will be remembered. But when KISS is dead and gone no one will remember them. The marketplace to to unforgiving. On to the next. That's the truth about crass commercialism. No legacy.
Likely my fate outside my family. Oh well....Such is life, my children will know..
Fuckin irresponsible parents. I hate it when their shit makes more work for me or hurts my children, even in the slightest way."
Whew, didn't seem like this much until I wrote it down. Hope you enjoyed.

What is the Rosetta Stone?
In ancient Egypt there was a stone that held the key for modern archaeologists understanding of hieroglyphic language. The Rosetta Stone.
Many have heard about the stone, but few people know what it says. As the story goes, or at least as it was told to me about 15 years ago by a trustworthy source, Pharaoh had several 'gangs' of tax collectors. The position at this time was a commission based independent contracted position. (This was before government unions and proper health care, you know back when the little guy was shit on all the time. Nothing like now in our modern progressive era!)
Well the tax collectors quickly figured out that the temples had a bunch of money (Hmmm.... wonder how they got that) and they decided that would be a good place to earn a lot of commission. So off they went, to see the temple keepers, with the power of Pharaoh behind them.
Well the priests thought this was very poor form, but they put up with it for a minute or two, until it became unbearable. Then they went to Pharaoh and said something like "Bitch, WTF! Get the Hell outta our money." And Pharaoh said "I'm Pharaoh Mu'fucka. I'm a god! I'll do what the hell I want!"
And the Priests said "Bitch, maybe you forgot but we're mugs that said you was a god. We'll just tell all these muther fuckers round here you ain't. Then see how much power you have then.....BITCH!"
And Pharaoh said "Whoa Whoa, let's not be hasty. We can work things out I'm sure! How 'bout this, I'll give you a tax exemption so no one will take any more money and you will tell everyone I'm not only a god but I'm a great god. How's that sound"
And the priests said "We're glad to do that for you, after all if Pharaoh is will to forgo deposits into his treasury so we can do the work of the gods, he is clearly not only a god but a great god."
And so the Rosetta Stone was made, in several languages just to make sure any tax collector could read it.
And there it is, proof that taxes and money have ruled religion and politics for more than 2000 years!

PS. "The complete Greek text, in English,[8] is about 1600–1700 words in length, and is about 20 paragraphs long (average 80 words per paragraph). In essence, the Rosetta Stone is a tax amnesty given to the temple priests of the day.... Some scholars speculate that several copies of the Rosetta Stone must exist, as yet undiscovered, since this proclamation must have been made at many temples."
